WHY THE GLOBE?
Growing up, I kept a toy globe on my windowsill. Every night as I was going to sleep, my Dad spun the globe and I reached out to stop its eager revolutions. Wherever my finger landed, green or blue, it would become my host for the night. Occasionally I’d provide an animal protagonist or two, the species of which would depend on my mood for the night. I would lie in astonishment as my Dad proceeded to spin the ultimate story of sedation. He weaved such intricate tapestries, I could never believe he was making them up on the spot. I often found myself so engrossed in the plot that I was wide awake by the time the story ended.
But I didn’t mind.
Looking back, I suppose that was when I first knew I wanted to be a storyteller, I just didn’t know how. Cut to present day and I’m hungry for any storytelling opportunity I can get my grubby mitts on. Performing improv comedy is my vice of choice (perfect for the lazy storyteller who doesn’t feel like writing), but it’s usually supplemented by playing Dungeons and Dragons until two in the morning, crafting spec scripts for ridiculous sitcom pilots about an Escape Room company, or writing ad copy that’s just weird enough to work. Regardless of the shape or form, I have fallen in love with creating and telling stories.
In my portfolio, each globe icon represents a story that I’ve told.
